Drug Use in Tacoma

Over the past few years, opioid death rates have increased significantly throughout Washington. Several counties, including Pierce County, saw an increase of more than 200% from 2022 to 2024. Opioid-related overdose is now the most common cause of accidental death in Pierce County, ranking above car accidents, and these numbers are growing most quickly among people aged 18 to 24.

Early intervention and referrals to treatment services continue to have significant success, and SAMHSA’s (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) tool has increased number of people reporting they had not used alcohol or illegal drugs in the past 30 days by 128.8%. However, no matter where you are in your recovery and your search for a Tacoma drug rehab, it is never too late to reach out and explore your options.

Levels of Care at Rebuilt’s Tacoma Drug Rehab

We offer several services across our three main programs: Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Program, and Outpatient Treatment.

Our PHP is a structured, intensive, short-term option for people experiencing substance use disorders and a co-occurring mental health condition such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, or more. Participants typically attend therapy sessions during the day and return home or to a sober living environment in the evenings. This arrangement helps individuals keep a daily routine that includes treatment and allows them to stay connected to life outside rehab. In many ways, it is a bridge between inpatient and outpatient care. Our PHP offers several forms of evidence-based therapy for individuals and as part of a group, family counseling, and psychoeducation (information about substance use disorders, mental health, and recovery). It also includes skill development for stress management or relapse prevention and regular health assessments.

An IOP is often the next step for people transitioning from a PHP. It offers more flexibility than the PHP but still provides essential support through group therapy sessions 3 to 5 times per week. In addition to group therapy, our IOP participants will meet bi-weekly with a Substance Use Disorder Professional for individual sessions where they can focus on any challenges unique to them. We offer several important services in our IOP, including case management and support in identifying employment opportunities, housing, and transportation to and from our treatment facility. This program is ideal for individuals striving to balance work, family, and other commitments while still focusing on living a life of sobriety.

Our OP is for those looking for continued support with accountability, life skills, and relapse prevention while living in permanent housing or sober living. It usually consists of group therapy sessions once or twice per week, along with bi-weekly individual sessions similar to the IOP. This offering is the most flexible of our programs. It includes several benefits, including time to fulfill responsibilities outside of rehab, a personalized care plan aligning with your goals, and a strong support network. Evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) are also available and encouraged.

FAQs About Rebuilt Treatment & Recovery’s Tacoma Drug Rehab

Our programs address addictions to alcohol, opioids (including fentanyl and heroin), methamphetamine, cocaine, and prescription medications. We also understand that addiction is complex and that many people who experience addiction often have a co-occurring mental health disorder, so we offer dual diagnosis treatment. This approach takes on both conditions at the same time. Dual diagnosis treatment is an evidence-based practice that leads to better overall outcomes.

Yes. We understand the importance of balancing treatment with daily responsibilities, and our program offerings are designed to offer flexibility so our clients can maintain work, school, or family commitments while still receiving support.

Group therapy offers a supportive environment where individuals with similar lived experiences can share with others and connect with those facing similar challenges. It creates a sense of community and belonging, which reduces feelings of isolation. Most participants value hearing different perspectives and the encouragement and collective problem-solving that can come from group therapy. It is also a meaningful way to encourage accountability and continue working on communication skills. While some participants may be shy or nervous to begin, group therapy often becomes an important tool for maintaining long-term sobriety.

It’s normal not to know which program you need, so please reach out to us and talk to one of our intake specialists. We offer comprehensive assessments to help us determine the right program for you, and we listen to your personal background and experiences. It’s important to us that you receive the proper support and resources to meet your treatment goals.
